Conquer Mount Teide on a Quad Safari Adventure
Conquering the Volcano: What to Expect on a Teide Quad Safari
Tenerife isn't just about the ocean. The real heart of the island is the sleeping giant, Mount Teide. The Quad Safari takes you off the paved roads and onto the dirt tracks, climbing through pine forests until you break through the clouds and witness the lunar landscape of the National Park.
This is not a sightseeing bus tour. You are in the driver's seat, fighting the dust and feeling the raw power of the engine beneath you as you navigate the rugged terrain of the island.
Can Anyone Drive a Quad?
Unlike the boats, you need a valid driving license to operate a Quad bike in Tenerife because we drive on public roads to reach the off-road trails. It is a real vehicle, not a toy.
- Drivers: Must be 18+ and hold a physical driving license (Type B).
- Availability: Monday to Saturday (Not available Sundays).
- Passengers: Can be children (usually 7+ years old) or adults who prefer to enjoy the view.
- Clothing: Wear closed shoes (sneakers) and clothes you don't mind getting dusty!
Photos of your driving license are NOT accepted. You must bring the original physical card. If you forget it, you will not be allowed to drive and you will lose your booking deposit.
The Route: Sea to Summit
The most popular tour is the "Teide Tour." It covers roughly 90km of diverse terrain, giving you a taste of every climate zone on the island.
1. The Forest Ascent
We start in the south and climb quickly. The temperature drops as we enter the "Corona Forestal," a dense ring of Canarian Pine trees that surrounds the volcano. The air gets crisp and smells of pine needles.
2. Above the Clouds (El Teide)
At 2,000 meters altitude, we stop at the famous viewpoints. You are often physically standing above the cloud line, looking down on the ocean. The landscape here looks like Marsβred rocks, twisted lava flows, and absolute silence.
What is Included?
We provide helmets, warm jackets (it gets cold up there, even in summer!), and gloves. The tour usually includes a small snack stop, but we recommend bringing a bottle of water.
